Who Am I?
“Those who know, do. Those who understand, teach”

Hello again everyone. Angel B. Jimenez writing here. It’s a lovely and chilly morning here in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Before we embark on an amazing journey of self-discovery in the field of writing, and personal struggles and lessons, this second post of Angel B. Jimenez’s “Writer’s Blog” will feature a short debrief on who I am and how I began my own journey of writing and podcasting.
March 2017
It was during this time that I had just achieved multiple first place awards for several track and field events including the State and IEC meets. Growing up, I had an unassailable passion for running. Where did that come from? When I was just a young child and I watched Disney’s “Cars”, I became obsessed with the idea of racing, sound-barrier shattering vehicles, like they did in the cartoon and NASCAR. My father however insisted, that before I race cars, I learn to race on foot. And from there the rest unraveled.
At this time, I had already begun writing stories. Ever since I was barely able to read, I would already be spending the household’s Xerox paper on drawing out stupid scribbles and dialogue bubbles for what I believed to be “amazing” comics. I would also use many of these blank pages to write out short horror stories with a bare maximum of about twenty big words per page written in highlighter. The point of me telling you this? Even though I struggled for years in elementary to write a successful PARAGRAPH, my underlying passion for writing stories was always there. And when I mean that I struggled, I do indeed mean, “crying at the dinner table with pounding fists” kind of struggle to write a single four sentence paragraph. My father most likely figured I was a lost cause.
And then, during the fourth grade, I was sitting bored, home alone and decided to pull up a blank and new Word document on the family computer. Out of the blue, I decided I want to write a short story to impress my family. This was “Age of the Kings” which turned out to be more than just a short story and indeed after this, my talent for writing only grew and my passion intensified and solidified within my heart.
April 2018
Moving from my hometown in Los Angeles, to a foreign land (Colorado), took a toll on me. But through my struggles and my vain attempts to make new friends and begin my life in Colorado Springs, I managed to focus on my true calling. And not only did I embrace my current predicament, but I used my pain and current struggles with depression and letting go, to fuel my passion for writing. And soon after this, I began my contract with Newman Springs Publishing and the publication of “Age of the Kings”.
Present Day
Four years later, here I am, writing to you guys. In the following week, I will be prioritizing my posts to educate all of you on the power of inspiration through a campaign called “An Era of Inspiration”.
Thank you and as always….dream big.
